The majungasaurus was a bipedal abelisaurid theropod dinosaur. The thing that makes it different from the other abelisaurids was it’s thickened bone on the top of its snout. That kind of resembles a horn. It lived in Madagascar. The name majungasaurus means “Mahajanga lizard”. It lived at the end of the Cretaceous Period. It’s height was 8 ft and length of 18–23 ft. It’s weight was approximately 1,100 kilograms. The majungasaurus was also known as Majungatholus, which means “Majunga dome” it got changed to majungasaurus for some paleontological reasons. It was most closely related to abelisaurids from India rather than South America or continental Africa. The Skull alone of the majungasaurus was 60-75 cm long. The majungasaurus was a cannibal. They ate their own kind too. The scientific name of the majungasaurus was Majungasaurus crenatissimus. It was a relative of the ceratosaurus. It was a member of the Majungasasurinae along with Arcovenator, Indosaurus, Rahiolisaurus and Rajasaurus. Paleontologists first described it as Majungatholus atopus, a new pachycephalosaur. It was later confirmed to be Majungasaurus crenatissimus, an abelisaurid. The majungasaurus was a bit taller than humans. Overall it was a cool dinosaur.
